DofE Instructor Positions 2025


Role: DofE Instructor.

Start date: March 2025 onwards.

Pay: £160 per day.

Extras: £10 DofE assessor report writing allowance, £40 named driver allowance.

Contract: Non-contract - This is a freelance position.

Location: Operating from our Kendal HQ, UK-wide.

Minimum qualification requirement:

Bronze Award - Basic Expedition Leadership/Walking Group Leader/Lowland Leader/Countryside Leader

Silver Award - Hill and Moorland Leader

Gold Award - Mountain Leader(Summer)

We are recruiting Freelance Instructors to join our industry leading team for 2025 onwards.

Successful candidates will be active outdoor instructors, with experience of expedition delivery with various AAPs, outdoor education, and adventure companies similar to ours.

Applicants must be high-performing professionals with the ability to work effectively with our team, and participants from differing backgrounds.

Ideally, the candidate will have substantial experience in the DofE expedition section or similar, and working towards becoming an Expedition Assessor.

Candidates must be concurrent with Safeguarding best practice.

Our DofE courses operate throughout the U.K.

DofE Instructor positions are available to those with (as a minimum);

  • Walking Qualification

  • 16-hour outdoor first aid.

  • Current clear Enhanced DBS check.

Recruitment process

  1. Candidates should upload their documents to us via our application form (button below). As a minimum, we require…

    • Bronze Award - BEL, WGL, LL, CLA

    • Silver Award - HML

    • Gold Award - Summer ML

    • First aid

    • Enhanced DBS

    • Proof of right to work in the UK details (passport, driving license, etc).

  2. Successful candidates will be called to interview either online or face-to-face.

  3. After a successful interview, access to the instructor page will be granted giving access to the next stage and induction process.

  4. Complete the online induction process.

  5. If selected new staff will undergo a short probationary period during their first expedition with us.
