DofE Expedition Manager Positions 2025


Role: DofE Expedition Manager.

Start date: March 2025 onwards.

Pay: £200 per day.

Contract: Non-contract - This is a freelance position.

Location: Operating from our Kendal HQ, UK wide.

Minimum qualification requirement: Mountain Leader Summer.

Extras: £10 DofE assessor report writing allowance, £40 named driver allowance.

We are recruiting Expedition Managers to join our industry leading team for 2025 onwards.

Successful candidates will be active outdoor instructors, with experience of expedition or course management with various outdoor education and adventure companies similar to ours.

Applicants must be high performing professionals with the ability to work effectively with our team, and participants from differing backgrounds.

Ideally the candidate will have substantial experience of the DofE expedition section or similar.

Our DofE courses operate throughout the U.K.

Expedition Manager positions are available to those with (as a minimum);

  • Summer Mountain Leader.

  • 16 hour outdoor first aid.

  • Current clear Enhanced DBS check.

  • Full UK driving license.

  • Safeguarding Qualification.

Recruitment steps;

  2. If stage 1 successful, candidates will be asked to upload their details through our application portal.

  3. Following a review of the uploaded details, an in person interview will be arranged at Sam Sykes HQ with our Operations Manager. This will also be an opportunity for you to interview us, and discuss the role in more detail with your preferred short and long term outcomes presented to our senior team.

  4. If successful at interview, your references will be contacted along with any other safeguarding procedures completed and documentation checked.

  5. Following positive outcomes from the references, safeguarding and documentation checks in step 4, an induction process and internal training process will be arranged with you.
