DofE Silver Expedition
You are booking for the DofE Silver Practice Expedition October 2025.
Bookings for the Qualifier will be released in 2026.
The cost includes campsite fees and use of tents, rucksacks, roll mats, stoves, gas, compasses, maps, first aid kits, trackers, emergency mobile phone etc.
Not included in this cost is your transport to and from the expedition, food and personal kit.

You need to arrive at the start location by 11:00 on the first day of both the Practice and Qualifier.

Day walk to cover practical aspects map and compass skills.

17:00 – Return to camp
Stove demo
bag packing and kit talk
Tent pitching
Dinner
Qualifying Expedition: Day 1
11:00 – Start
Review route with assessor. Depart with full kit
Remote supervision or check point as appropriate
Arrive at camp
set up tents, cook meal, sort out routes for following day, debrief
Day Two
Practice Expedition: Day 1
07:30 – Start
Breakfast, pack camp
Depart camp with full kit
Remote supervision or check point as appropriate
16:30 – Return to camp
Set up camp at new campsite
Dinner
Daily de brief – additional training
18:00 – Evening session
Cook dinner under supervision
Route planning for qualifying expedition
Qualifying Expedition: Day 2
Breakfast, pack camp
Depart camp with full kit
Remote supervision or check point as appropriate
Set up camp, cook etc.
Debrief and sort out routes for next day
