The Forest of Bowland
Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty covering 803sq miles of Lancashire and Yorkshire. Internationally important for its upland bird populations especially merlins and hen harriers. A mixture of gritstone fells, peat moorlands and steep sided wooded valleys.
Campsite Locations
We use a number of different campsites in the area. These range from sites that can accommodate large numbers with full facilities to farms that offer a more basic traditional DofE feel.
Campsites are located in areas that allow multiple routes to be planned, catering for mixed abilities from a single school. The more adventurous teams can summit the nearby fells.
Camping in vans for Sam Sykes staff is not always possible due to requirements of expedition. You will be informed if this is the case.
