Activity provider Sam Sykes™ provides raw adventures and valuable experience through a programme of training, practice expeditions, and qualifying award expeditions for Bronze level.

We also provide approved assessors for groups.

Sam Sykes Bronze DofE Expedition Itinerary

TRAINING & PRACTICE: 3 DAYS

DAY 1 • TRAINING:

• Put up tents

• Cover basic map skills

• Afternoon walk

• Stove demo

• Qualifying route cards

DAY 2 • PRACTICE:

• Bag packing

• Depart with full kit

• Day walk

• Further navigation skills

• Discuss Countryside Code

• First aid skills

Day 3: Completion of practice expedition:

• Depart with full kit

• Day walk

• Remote supervision and check pointing

• Debrief by group leader

QUALIFYING EXPEDITION: 2 DAYS

DAY 1:

• Meet group

• Check kit and bag pack

• Agree daily check points and assessor meet locations

• Group complete planned route

• Cooking and evening supervision by our staff

DAY 2:

• Agree day check points and assessor meet locations

• Group pack down camp

• Group complete planned route

• Assessor debrief and group presentation
