Forest of Dean

An ancient forest predating 1066 in origin covering an area of 42 sq miles. The River Wye runs along the western fringe. A place of timeless beauty and untamed nature, with breathtaking views from Symonds Yat. Famous for woodland birds with the highest concentration of goshawks in Britain.

Campsite Locations

We use a number of campsites in the Forest of Dean allowing for a wide variety of routes to suit schools. Routes travel through a mix of open countryside and ancient woodland.

Camping in vans for Sam Sykes staff is not always possible due to requirements of expedition. You will be informed if this is the case.
