Access to venue

Only accessible by minibus or van. No coach access. Turn down the side of The Bridge, pass the to the right of The Buttermere Inn, continue through the Lake District National Park car park to the gated section.

Mobile Coverage Mobile phone signal is variable. Tends to be found on top of the hill in the campsite or on the lakeshore near Wood House.

Showers 50p for 5 minutes.

Toilets Separate male and female facilities.

Potwash Sinks for pot washing at toilet block, right hand end.

Rubbish Bins over the river at edge of car park.

Parking in small carpark.

Shelter Small hut to left of toilet block. Small cooking shelter towards where the yurts are set up.

Defib Honister Slate Mine, Honister Pass, Seatoller, CA12 5XN, when slate mine open. Correct as of Oct 2024.

Red Phone Box, adjacent to Oak Cottage on Kirkstile Inn junction, Loweswater Village, Loweswater, CA13 0RU. Correct as of Oct 2024.

Check in At Syke Farm Tearoom if open, please display the label given on a tent. The tearoom also serves a campers breakfast and very good ice cream. Parking at the tearoom is very restricted, it is recommended to park at the campsite and walk round.

Specific Issues Midges frequent at site.

There is a river running along the campsite, no paddling or swimming allowed. Close to the lake, again no paddling or swimming.

Camping in vans for Sam Sykes staff is not always possible due to requirements of expedition. You will be informed if this is the case.
