Mobile Coverage Poor mobile coverage, limited 4G. Load up your sat nav before entering the valley.

You need to drive up the valley for phone signal. The YHA is the nearest source of WiFi and haven’t minded staff popping in to access this to update the WhatsApp group.

Showers 50p for hot water. If busy the site prefers students don’t use these.

Toilets The toilet block is basic but functional. If there are a lot of groups on site the site puts on portaloos. This tends to happen if we are in the field opposite the main site. The site encourages the students to use these if they are available.

Potwash Sinks for pot washing at toilet block, only cold water available. Sink in main entrance of overflow field.

Rubbish Bins near toilets. Extra bins in overflow field.

Parking Vehicles to stay in main car park unless using overflow field . Limited hardstanding in overflow field.

Shelter There is a covered area the students can use if the weather is very poor. They are not supposed to cook in here. This can be found in the building with the toilet block attached to. There are large barn doors that open to a space with picnic table inside.

If camping in the field marked in blue there is a style in the corner near Peat Howe.

The farmhouse is one of the buildings  in the small cluster near the church. If Richard is not on the field when you need to check in head over there, he is often is in the carpark meeting arrivals. Please speak to Richard before setting up tents.

Specific Issues Midges frequent at site. Poor mobile signal.

Camping in vans for Sam Sykes staff is not always possible due to requirements of expedition. You will be informed if this is the case.
